ICFS 2027 Brazil

The event is aimed at scientists and students who study sediment transport and deposition in fluvial environments, as well as sedimentary rocks formed in alluvial systems. Its objectives are to consolidate knowledge in fluvial sedimentology, share recent discoveries, explore emerging research areas, and present investigations across different geographic and geological settings. This edition of the ICFS seeks to broaden its audience by including related topics at the interface of fluvial sedimentology with other fields. Among these topics are, for example: river morphology, deltaic systems, paleosols and soils in alluvial settings, sediment data quantification, river evolution and management, rivers as paleobiological barriers, and the historical interaction between rivers and human communities.
Since 1977, the International Congress of Fluvial Sedimentology has brought together scientists interested in both modern and ancient fluvial sedimentary systems.
